Moeti Kanyane is a graduate of the University of Limpopo holding BProc and LLB degrees. He is our specialist public lawyer whose focus includes Electoral Law, Procurement Law and all aspects of Public Law. He has practised in various capacities since 2001. He is admitted as an attorney and a notary public.

Moeti conducts a multi-disciplinary practice straddling commercial litigation and all aspects of Public Law (and most things in between) and has a particular interest in Constitutional and Administrative Law.

A key feature of his practice is that he provides integrated advisory, legislative drafting, forensic and litigation services to state and non-state actors. This includes drafting policy documents and legislation, advising on and conducting litigation relating to Administrative Law, government procurement, Municipal Law, Development Law, compliance and corporate governance, Healthcare Law, as well as commercial and general litigation.

Moeti frequently acts on behalf of a number of organs of state in matters such as drafting policy documents, primary and subordinate legislation, the establishment of public entities, advice in such areas as co-operative governance, and the limits of constitutionally granted functional spheres at all levels of a democratic, constitutional state.

Moeti is considered an industry expert in Electoral Law, having been lead attorney for the Electoral Commission in multiple cases involving the interpretation of electoral statutes, the area of regulatory compliance affecting certain professions and industries, such as healthcare, the built environment, standards and compulsory specifications. In addition, public procurement (advisory and litigation) is a particular strength with him and is his focus a lot of the time.
